"We heard it over and over again from various guests..."this was the best wedding I've ever been to!" Yes, the food was great, the venue was nice, and we had perfect weather but we knew what they meant - "That band was awesome!" As soon as we got engaged, our first order of business was booking The Paul Otten Band. In fact, your availability set our wedding date. Your pre-event communication was outstanding and you even humored me for a little while when I had illusions of joining you on stage for a guitar solo. (Upon reflection, that was definitely a good call to not let me do that!!) At any rate, we knew you would keep the dance floor packed all night because we had seen you perform many times in the past going back to my days at Xavier University. But bringing you to Cleveland and introducing your talents to family and friends on the north coast was tremendous. Our wedding coordinator, who primarily does weddings in Michigan, remarked in her blog how impressed she was with your ability to "read the crowd" and mix in the right songs at the right moments. As a result, you may be getting future requests to play that Michigan fight song during introductions!
I will end by saying - thanks to you, I have the indelible image of my dad jumping around to 'Rocky Top' with all of my buddies. Thanks to you, teenagers and grandparents alike gladly danced the night away until the reception venue hit the lights and called it a night. Thanks to you, I did not hear any cheesy DJ's attempts to get the crowd on the dance floor (no chicken dance, electric slide or 70's disco!). Thanks to you, I now have the most amazing photographs of all of our guests swaying, arms around each other, and singing along to 'Piano Man', which closed out the night. Thanks to you, Chrissy and I had the wedding of our dreams. Bias or no bias...that was the best wedding we've ever attended and that band truly was awesome!"

"The Paul Otten band was the perfect band for our wedding. The band played something for everyone in the crowd (especially our Miami friends). We had people on the dance floor at the first opportunity and had to tell the guests that he could not play "one more last song" at the end of the night. The duo has been performing at wedding receptions for over 7 years. In that time, their wedding business has seen a steady increase every year, all by word-of-mouth.
The key to the band's enormous success at wedding receptions or wherever they perform is their ability to entertain people of all ages. Their mix of rock 'n roll, country, funk, soft rock, sing-along music, and their ability to perform music from the 50's to the present is what earns them their fans.

The band DJ's a pleasant mix of easy listening music during dinner and dance songs on their breaks to keep the music flowing seamlessly throughout the night. The band also makes themselves available to MC the reception, if so desired. They work closely with every bride and groom to insure that their reception will cater to their specific musical tastes and will run smo othly. The Paul Otten Band provides an extensive play list of songs so that every bride and groom, and whoever else wants to be involved, can choose exactly what they want to hear on their night.

Custom Ear Candy is a custom songwriting service that provides
professional, custom written and recorded songs for weddings, engagements,
birthdays, anniversaries, graduations or any occasion. Custom Ear Candy
also creates jingles, theme songs, soundtrack music, ringtones, etc....
I have been writing and performing music for 20 years. My songs have won
“VH-1 Song Of The Year” awards, appeared in TV shows, movie soundtracks
and radio ads. I have written 1st dance songs for couples on their wedding
day, birthday songs, graduation songs, you name it. I can write your song
in pretty much any style you wish (I do know my own limitations and
abilities though. Don’t expect a great hip hop song or classical music
piece from me). But if it’s Pop, Rock, Country, R & B, Boogie Woogie,
Swing, Blues, Silly.....I’m your man.

When you hire me to write your song I will ask you for some basic
information about the musical style desired, info about the subject of the
song, etc.
I will come up with a rough version of the song, I will email an mp3 of
that version to you to review. You can tell me if there’s anything that
you want me to change, I will do so and again let you hear the new
version. If you like what you hear I will record a final version of the
song and email you the mp3. I can include an instrumental version of the
song as well (if you would like to have someone sing along to the song at
an event, party or whenever). If you would like a CD with the song on it
sent to you I can do so for an extra $10.
If you are hiring me to write a jingle I will send you the original
version of the song, plus any edited version of the song you desire.
